Lamis Dachwali is a distinguished Syrian American artist. Born in Damascus, she studied in the college of Fine Arts, and was among the first graduating class of 1965.

Between 1965 and today, she held and contributed in over 50 exhibits, both individual and joint. Over her long career, Lamis was awarded many awards and honored both in Syria and internationally.

An avid traveler and explorer, Lamis traveled throughout the world. In the early 70's, she spent nearly 4 years in Congo (prev. Zaire) teaching estethics and illustration. That period left indelible marks on her character that still appear in her works. She also lived in various countries throughout the Middle East, Europe, the USA and Canada.
